Loyal to his club

Antal Jakl is already 37 year old and he finishing with the main team squad. The club is planning a final match for him.

“Oldie” has started his first class career at PMFC Dunaújváros in 1993 when he was 22 year old and after ten years he had to leave the club because of financial problems in 2003 and arrived to Győr.

Maybe he did not know yet in that time that he will play with green-whites more than 150 first class matches.

The warm hearted player totally played 330 matches in first class as defender and shot 12 goals.

“Sooner or later this time had to come and I have to finish active football playing in the first class-said to us the defender.-I was more than thirty years old when came to here to Győr so I was not too young in that time and it was a pleasure to play this long period for me.”

The player was invited to Győr by his first head coach, Zoltán Varga.

“Maybe because of his personality other players were not so friendly with me in the first time. But some days later they have realized that I am a friendly guy and there were no more problems. Not just me but also my family loves the city.”

“My career is absolutely positive. Of course there were some harder days but I am satisfied. Some of the team squad are my good friends, Stark, Peti Bajzát and Tibi Tokody are my best friends. I feel that the young players do like me, respect me because I have always forced solidarity. We had successes what we had maybe overrated, and we had some worst  periods what we had to step forward. What Is my best memorable situation? In Üllői street I shot three goals in the final of the match , like another match on UEFA Cup, when I shot a goal to Georgia and that goal helped to go forward, these are the best moments to remember.  There is always a lot to learn from the coaches and it is obvious that because of Dunaújváros success I was happy to work with Sándor Egervári in here , too. I liked to work with János Csank and it was also interesting that my best performance was in the time of István Reszeli Soós.”

You would like to stay in here as a trainer.

“Well, I can not fight with time, I have to realize that I am getting older. It is already the time to give back that knowledge to my club that they gave me. Finally I would play maybe a little more in lower level and would like to be the trainer of the club.”
